Yelp is easily going to be one of the essential apps for your Apple Watch - even more so when you’re checking out a new town or city. It makes it easy for you to discover new places to check out, and you won’t even have to dig your iPhone out of your pocket to do so.

Open up the app and you’re given four key choices - restaurants, bars, coffee & tea, and hot & new. Delve further and Yelp highlights nearby places. A name is offered, along with how many reviews are available for the place, average ratings, and the kind of institution it is.

You can scroll down for a brief introduction on each review, as well as a small map to demonstrate where the place is located. Tap on that map and you’re whisked off to the maps app, proving all the more convenient for you to figure out where you’re going.

You can’t add reviews through the app, but you can easily read what’s already there. That should save you the annoyance of going somewhere mediocre, plus you should never feel too lost in an unfamiliar land. More categories would have been nice, but in terms of convenience and speedYelp for the Apple Watch really has you covered.
