It has been a good time for gaming and music lovers lately with names like Blackpink and Man with a Mission popping up in various mobile games, and now Rec room wants to get involved in a big way, striking a deal to bring Republic Records artists to the game throughout 2023.

If Republic Records rings a bell, that’s probably because they have signed some pretty big artists. The likes of Volbeat, Ariana Grande, Of Monsters and Men and Taylor Swift make up the prospective catalogue we could see in Rec Rooms so fans could be in for an interesting year.

The inaugural of the planned monthly musical marvels, dubbed the Fourth Fridays, was held on 27th January and starred the pop singer JESSICA, and unless you have mastered time travel, you may have missed it. Fret not, however, as we already have news of the next artist to make the jump. American singer-songwriter Quinn XCII will be joining the team on 24th February, and anyone interested in attending will need to RSVP on the RecNet Event page.

When announcing the launch of Fourth Fridays, Rec Rooms Head of Publishing, Mike Schmid, said “Music has always been an integral part of Rec Room’s community and over the past year we’ve gotten tons of requests to host more music-focused events”

“We’re so excited to be partnering with a world-renowned label like Republic Records to make those requests come to life in a big way. They have an incredible roster of talented artists, and we can’t wait for players to be able to experience their music together in Rec Room.”

For those interested in watching the floating, limbless avatars of popular musical artists belt out their best hits in Rec Room, head over to the App Store and Google Play to download the virtual reality MMO sensation.
