Academic Calendar
Schedules for Terms and Class Times
• The full-time programs are generally divided into four 3-month terms. (Two 3-month terms for Art Foundation)
• Most classes are typically held Monday to Friday from approximately 9am to 12pm, and 1pm to 4pm.
• (In programs for Game Art & Design and Visual Effects, there will be additional or alternate class times from 6pm to 9pm on specific days each week.)
• Classes are delivered in Pacific Time Zone from Vancouver. If you are taking your program ONLINE from a different time zone, classes are synchronous and must be attended LIVE when they happen. Calculate how many hours’ difference are between the times listed above and how this translates to your time zone.
• All formal classes with an instructor present count towards attendance. “Open Labs” are periods when students are welcome to come in and work on assignments, but no instructor is assigned and they do not count towards attendance.
• Your exact schedule will be available through myVanArts, our private student website. Before classes start, you will be given login information for myVanArts and shown how to access it.
Full-time term schedules (Start Date — End Date) are listed below by Fall or Spring intakes. During the study break, the school will still be open for business, but typically closed to all students to allow for cleaning and equipment updates.
