Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds kicks of the New Year with a bevy of rewards and a tough new challenge

Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds is starting off the New Year with a big update, bringing with it some free gifts, a new event with awesome rewards, and the arrival of a new Familiar. Be warned, however, as a powerful old enemy is back with some new tricks.

To celebrate the start of 2023, the New Year Dice Event gives all players the chance to pick up some pretty nice rewards. By completing some fairly simple missions, one is just to log in so you won’t need to be too far into the game, you can have a chance to grab prizes such as the 6 Star Tetro Puzzle Selection Pack and a Miraculous Warding Doll Selection Chest.

For those who would prefer not to work for their rewards, we have all had those weeks, the New Year Check-In will give anyone who logs into the game for two weeks will receive a variety of gifts including various Summon Coupons, and the Traditional Otherworld Costume to start the New Year out in style.

If the free clothing doesn’t strike your fancy, the new update also brings a second clothing set for you to get your hands on. The Extreme Winter Outfit is a ski-wear-inspired ensemble that will have you ready to take on another the snow will throw at you, as you drive around on the new Snow Racer mount.

Not to have everything winter themed, you can also obtain the Eternal Flame mount, as well as a new Rare Darkness Familiar named Relixx. You will need all the new companions you can get, as a fearsome old foe is coming back with a vengeance to take on the role of the new Field Boss.

The ancient mechanical dragon, inventively called Mecharagon, has had time to stew since their last appearance and is back for revenge in an even more powerful form, Corrupted Mecharagon. By beating this foe during the first or second week of the event you can nab the Sealed Mecharagon Earrings Chest, so you'll have to act fast.
